The Girls in Action team hiked to Tare Veer village, east of Shivapuri National Park last week. They enjoyed rolling prayer wheels in a shrine on the way. “Girls in Action” team participated in the International Women’s Day 5k fun run!

40 girls from "Girls in Action" participated in International women's day 5k fun run organized by Higher Ground. Girls enjoyed painting their faces and dancing Zumba in the event. They were happy to be part of the Women's day event and energized to meet strong women from all age group participating. Looking forward to more training and fun trails in the future. “Girls in Action” team participated in Seto Gumba 11km trail.

42 girls from 'Girls in Action' participated in Kathmandu Trail Race Series organized by Trail Running Nepal. Some girls ran and others hiked enjoying the marked trails. Our girls were excited to participate as they have been winter training for past two and half months. They very much enjoyed the race and are looking forward to explore more trails in future. Putting Shoes on Children’s Feet: Running with Mira Rai in Sano Dumma

  A little over a month ago we were contacted with a special request to help purchase shoes for children in Mira Rai's home village of Sano Dumma  in a remote part of eastern Nepal.  Many of the children there wear plastic sandals, flip flops, or go barefoot. The board weighed the proposal and thanks to your donations we were able to help. The total funding for purchasing shoes for children in the village was $450 USD and plans are now underway  to make the children's race (and the shoes)  self-sustaining in the coming years. Girls’ Hike to Kapan.

A bit of muddy and slippery hike to Kapan Monastries from Budhanilkantha. 26 girls joined the hike on 23rd of July 2016. We had been just taking them out to short runs on the Saturdays before that week. It was a fun hike as all the girls enjoyed the monsoon with their umbrellas as it was raining.
