Wide Open Vistas would like to thank Lizzy Hawker for encouraging and supporting our girls on the hike  to the top of Shivapuri Peak on 20th Feb 2016 with our girls. Raj and Sasha from Kathmandu trail running group along with Rhea and Arika joined us as well. Quick update - Dorjee reports that the roof for the bathroom at Buddhanilkantha School was finished last week and that the wood supports will be removed in another week. The septic tank is already in the ground. Next up is finishing the plumbing and tiling. We are getting there!Read more

#TeamWOV #Nepal would like to thank Mira Rai for joining our WOV girls team for a hike to Jamacho Gumba, Shivapuri on 19th of December 2015. Getting a help from Sunayana Lama our WOV staff, Sonam Shah managed to take and bring the girls from Budhanilkantha to Nagarjun and back. Helping children see – Micro Research Grant for Vision, Update #1

We are very happy to pass on this progress report from Raju Kati, a practicing optometrist at Dhulikhel Hospital.  Wide Open Vistas was able to provide a micro-research grant in 2015 (approx  $870) to Raju and his team so that they could purchase much needed tools for screening pediatric patients with vision issues. To date, they have screened 438 patients and helped correct the vision of 75 patients thanks to these tools. This project has a solid measurement plan, will soon extend to screenings in public schools, and has been been approved by an Institutional Review Board.…Read more
