Lunch with Ranju Darshana

Girls In Action(GIA) season 3, organized its first-ever lunch program with inspirational women at Budanilkantha Campus, Kathmandu. We were glad to have Ranju Darshana as our guest speaker for the day. Ranju Darshana is a youth activist and young politician. She has been known for her candidacy for mayor of Kathmandu metropolitan city at the age of 21.

We were also grateful to have Ms Shova Chetrri, Vice Principal of Budanilkantha School who had been admiring our program and have been supporting us in various ways. She expressed her gratitude to Wide Open Vistas team for providing such a good opportunity to the girls through various activities.

The program was attended by 48 young girls that ran for about 2 hours where our guest speaker, shared her personal stories, her experiences then and now, and answered the queries of the participant. The girls looked happy to be a part of this program. We believe this kind of exposure at a young age means a lot to them and adds values to life.

We hope, the objective of this lunch program, to inspire and develop the self-confidence level in girls, was successful to some extent. The girls walked out of the room with a lot of motivation and meeting with different personalities was a moment of happiness for them. The girls looked focused throughout the program and many thanks to Ranju Darshana for delivering her stories in a way which girls could relate easily and for her time out of the busy schedule.

We would like to express our thank you to the gatekeeper brothers who helped us cleaning the room and all the setup. The girls were awesome with working on chart paper, filling up the water bottles, names registration and lunch distribution. Thanks to Ms Shova Chetrri, for helping us in many ways, Sudeep Kandel for initiating this and Nikita Thapaliya for managing things and everyone who has helped us directly or indirectly.

Cheers to the team.
