Happy New Year everyone! Minutes from our December board meeting are now posted  and the annual report should be posted in the next couple weeks. There is a lot of news to share, but we want to welcome Dr. Janet Peterson and Alysha Greig to the board! Janet brings a passion for public health, Nepal, and is also an outdoor, human powered enthusiast who can frequently be spotted crossing foreign countries by bike with her husband Jay. She is an Associate Professor at Linfield College in Oregon has conducted research work in Nepal on high altitude porters with Seth in 2013 and she will be chairing our micro research grant program. Alysha visited Nepal in 2010 as an undergraduate student in one of Seth’s classes. Alysha has a strong background as a yoga instructor and is the director of the University of Washington Mindfulness Project. She is a natural born fundraiser as well, has worked extensively with WOV throughout 2015,  and will serve on the WOV board as our Director of Development.

We also want to thank everyone for your help this year! We’ll detail what we’ve managed to accomplish in our annual report but we are very grateful for your support, especially for recent donations from Decide Your Life Inc., from Pacific Groundwater Group (thank you Glen W. for nominating us!), an anonymous donation through the Benevity Community Impact Fund in Ohio, and Debbie P. who trekked to Everest Base Camp with Dorjee in Nepal and climbed Kilimanjaro with Seth. These donations, and donations received throughout the year are instrumental to helping us do what we do. We look forward to sharing more in our annual report. Thanks again – and a warm welcome to Janet and Alysha!
